low precipitation in spring which influenced emergence and especially
the development of spring crops negatively.

In 1997 no lodging
was observed. The variety 2 with the highest (but not significantly) yield
also showed the highest plant density.
Grain yield of
7 investigated varieties - Germany 1997

The yield of the 7
tested varieties (summer crops) in 1997 was on the average almost 23 dt/ha
(91% DM; not purified). There was no significant difference between the
varieties observed (Newman-Keuls-Test; alpha = 0,05). The TSW shows higher
differences between the varieties than the yield.
